All of these are oil on photographs. Many are snap shot size and some are printed larger. I think that there’s a crossover to what I’ve been doing in obscuring the image drawn with paint to the image of a photograph obscured with paint. Separately, having a large box of photographs sort of dates me. I’m guessing that people in their twenties don’t have a large box of photographs. I could be wrong but with the advent of digital cameras it seems that old photographs are going to be a rarity in the future. This touches on the layers of time that I like to play with as metaphor.
